Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — In a heartwarming gesture of camaraderie, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude towards former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) for presenting him with a remarkable painting titled “Standing Firm Like Rocks.” The exchange took place during a gathering and iftar event hosted by the Democratic Party in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 evening.
Prabowo, visibly touched by the gift, conveyed his appreciation to SBY, stating, “I am deeply moved by your gesture of respect towards me. To receive a painting from you personally is an extraordinary honor.” He further added that he would find a fitting place for the artwork, possibly at the upcoming new Presidential Palace.
During the event, Prabowo extended his thanks to Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) and other prominent figures within the party for their support. Emphasizing his commitment to national development and poverty eradication, Prabowo expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the Democratic Party in realizing the aspirations of Indonesia’s founding fathers.
“We are determined to fulfill the dreams of our nation’s founders. We aim for a prosperous Indonesia, where its people smile and its children are strong. Our nation is poised to become one of the top economies, given our tremendous wealth,” Prabowo asserted.
Meanwhile, SBY explained that the painting symbolized his confidence in Prabowo’s future leadership. Crafted over 10 hours with a specific purpose for Prabowo, the artwork depicts a rock standing steadfast amidst turbulent waters, embodying resilience and conviction.
The declaration of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the winning pair in the 2024 Presidential Election by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) further solidified the momentum. With an overwhelming mandate of 96,214,691 votes, their victory marks a significant juncture in Indonesian politics.
However, amidst the celebrations, legal challenges loom as the opposing camp led by Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, and Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md., have lodged complaints with the Constitutional Court (MK). Despite this, Prabowo remains focused on the task ahead, steering Indonesia towards a brighter future, as depicted in the painting gifted by SBY.
