Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) – Acting Chief of the Water Resources Department (SDA) Ika Agustin Ningrum firmly refutes information circulating on social media stating that the closure of infiltration wells in Jakarta is the cause of flooding.
“The SDA Department has not ordered the closure of infiltration wells on the streets. If there are infiltration wells that are covered, we will conduct inspections for maintenance so that the infiltration wells can function as they should while considering the safety and convenience of road users,” said Ika, on Monday (03/04/2024) in Jakarta.
Ika emphasizes that the Jakarta Provincial Government, through the SDA, is committed to addressing floods through various measures, including allocating funds for the maintenance of infiltration wells in each SDA Office in the five administrative regions of the DKI Jakarta Province.
It is important to note that the flooding in Jakarta some time ago was caused by various factors, including extremely heavy rainfall over a prolonged period, exceeding the capacity of the existing drainage system.
