JAKARTA, BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE – The Penjaringan District Election Supervisory Committee (Panwaslu Kecamatan Penjaringan) held a Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) to improve the quality of election oversight for the 2024 DKI Jakarta Simultaneous Elections. The event took place at the Karang Taruna Hall, Pejagalan Village, North Jakarta, on Saturday (12/10/2024). All village-level supervisors from across the Penjaringan district attended the meeting, and they aimed to strengthen their understanding of election regulations.
Yus Octavianto, Chairman of Panwaslu Penjaringan, highlighted the importance of this Rakernis in updating the supervisors’ knowledge about election rules, including laws, Bawaslu regulations, and PKPU guidelines. “With deeper knowledge, we can ensure better election monitoring for the 2024 DKI Jakarta Simultaneous Elections,” he said.
The event also featured a guest speaker, M. Ichwan Ridwan, Chairman of MW KAHMI Jaya, also known as Boim. He discussed current social issues in Jakarta, particularly regarding the rise of abstention (golput) and protest voting (gercos). Boim further explained the importance of understanding how to address violations, threats to election oversight, and the code of ethics for election officials.
The Rakernis aims to prepare the supervisors to handle future election violations more effectively. Yus encouraged the supervisors to cooperate closely with local stakeholders, including the village and district administrations, to ensure smooth and peaceful elections in Penjaringan.
Johan Bahdi, Chairman of the North Jakarta Bawaslu, also attended and gave a closing speech. He praised the professionalism of the Penjaringan district supervisors during previous legislative and presidential elections. “I am confident that with our experience, we can carry out our duties professionally in the upcoming simultaneous elections,” Johan added.
This Rakernis marks an important step in ensuring smooth, problem-free election monitoring, helping safeguard the fairness and integrity of the democratic process in DKI Jakarta.
