JAKARTA, BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE– The Jami’ As Sa’adah Mosque hosted the 22nd Haul Akbar of its founder, KH. Muhammad Arsyad Mu’alim, along with the 4th Haul of Al-Walid Sayyid Al-Habib Ali Assegaf. This event coincided with the celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth (Maulid Nabi) and the temporary Tawaquf of the Ta’lim Assembly at As Sa’adah. Held on Sunday (January 19, 2025), the gathering brought together hundreds of worshippers, Habaib, scholars, and community leaders, uniting them in the spirit of Islamic propagation.
Bright Weather as a Blessing
That morning, bright skies enveloped Jami’ As Sa’adah Mosque, despite recent days of rain. The Chairman of the As Sa’adah Islamic Education Foundation, H. Munir Arsyad, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the prayers of the scholars, Habaib, and worshippers, the weather is as bright as our faith.” Worshippers remained enthusiastic, even as they stood under the sun.
H. Munir extended his appreciation to the mothers who attended, praising their remarkable strength both physically and spiritually.
Scholars and Habaib Bring Blessings
The event gained a more solemn tone with the attendance of prominent scholars and Habaib, including:
- Habib Ahmad
- Habib Toha
- KH. DR. Saifulloh bin KH. Hasbiyalloh
- Habib Ridho
- Kyai Salim Naik
- Habib Alwi
- Habib Zainal Abidin
- Habib Abdul Qadir
- Habib Bagil
- Habib Abdul Rahman
- Habib Soleh bin Bagir Al-Aqas
- Kyai Haji Salim Naik
- Ustadz Abu Sholeh Tanjung
In their sermons, they emphasized the importance of loving the Prophet Muhammad, respecting scholars, and preserving Islamic traditions. Their presence brought blessings and hope that Jakarta, particularly the As Sa’adah area and its surroundings, would be spared from disasters.
Remembering the Mosque’s Founder
The Haul also served as a tribute to KH. Muhammad Arsyad Mu’alim, the founder of Jami’ As Sa’adah Mosque. Known for his humility, he established the mosque on September 13, 1991. Despite owning a house in Kavling DKI, he preferred to sleep in the mosque alongside workers. In early 1992, even before the mosque’s construction was complete, he initiated the Ta’lim Assembly.
H. Munir recalled the close friendships his late father had with Al-Walid Sayyid Al-Habib Ali Assegaf and Habib Ali bin Abdurrahman Assegaf, who always wore traditional gamis during their visits.
The late Al-Walid was remembered for his sincerity, particularly his characteristic smile—even while sleeping. This legacy of kindness is cherished by H. Munir, H. Mul, and the extended As Sa’adah family, who see this event as a tribute of love and respect for him.
Plans for Mosque Expansion
During the event, H. Munir shared plans to expand the mosque and its educational facilities under As Sa’adah’s management.
Habib Ahmad suggested increasing the mosque’s levels to accommodate more worshippers. “Bang Munir, can this mosque be built up to seven stories?” asked Habib Ahmad. “That’s too much, Bib. Two or three stories, I can manage. Seven is too high,” replied H. Munir with a smile.
H. Munir also expressed a desire to add classrooms for the junior and vocational high schools, saying, “We hope to add more classrooms for our SMP and SMK. Right now, we have to turn away some prospective students due to limited capacity.”
Some local residents have even offered their land to support the mosque’s expansion.
Event Highlights: Sermon and Devine Blessing
The event reached its climax with a sermon that encouraged worshippers to strengthen their love for the Prophet Muhammad and scholars. After the sermon, attendees enjoyed a meal of nasi kebuli, a dish symbolizing blessings and prayers for their wishes to be granted by Allah.
H. Munir revealed that the nasi kebuli menu was a suggestion from the late Al-Walid, who believed it symbolized more than just food but also divine blessings.
Over 20 food and drink carts were prepared for the attendees, who were also allowed to take meals home to share with their families.
Prayers and Aspirations for As Sa’adah
H. Munir, H. Mul, and the As Sa’adah family expressed hopes for the mosque to continue growing as a center for Islamic propagation, benefiting the community. He urged worshippers to support various Islamic programs and educational activities at As Sa’adah.
“May As Sa’adah continue to thrive, advance, and be blessed in propagating the religion of Allah SWT,” said H. Munir.
Impressions from Pilgrims
One of the attendees, Ibu Nurhayati, shared her emotional response to the event, saying it always left a profound impression each year. She also appreciated the ease of accessing information about Umrah and Hajj through various providers present, including an offer of free Umrah or free Hajj by Tanur Muthmainnah.
Through this event, Jami’ As Sa’adah Mosque has proven to be not only a place of worship but also a hub for unity, education, and Islamic propagation, bringing blessings to all who attended. (sdk)
