JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Working Committee (Panja) Preparation of the Draft Law on the Protection of Domestic Workers (RUU PPRT) of the DPR RI Legislative Agency (Baleg) considers the proposal to include the regulation of the applicator of domestic workers service providers (PRT) online or online.
“Earlier the input was good, so later try from TA (the Expert Team) recorded where later we might be able to enter if there is an online recruitment application,” said Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Baleg Martin Manurung who led the PPRT Bill Panja Meeting at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday.
He then said, “The important thing is we note it first when we enter the articles if we don’t have the norm, if there is already but we add it.”
This was conveyed by Martin to respond to the proposal submitted by members of the Indonesian Parliament Baleg Yanuar Arif Wibowo that in the PPRT Bill helped regulate the pattern of recruiting domestic workers online or online.
“How later in the future this law can anticipate that if there is an application that facilitates the employer and the recipient. Now, what is the relationship later, what the contractual is like, whether they are called partnerships too or what, and so on,” Arif said at the meeting.
He said the arrangement was needed to anticipate the development of technology for the pattern of recruiting domestic workers online through applications, as happened in online motorcycle taxis.
“In my opinion this also needs to be deepened so that later this law can really anticipate technological developments so that later it will not cause new problems and we will revise again,” he said.
The Baleg DPR RI expert Agung Andri Widiyatmoko said that the regulation related to the applicator of online domestic workers service providers could be included in the category of Type of Licensing Type Online in Government Regulation (PP) derived from Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Work Cipta.
“In terms of business, this is actually a sir, after we checked in the PP from the work creation derivative that the placement company is also regulated in the PP, there is a conventional base, then there is also an online or online,” Andri said.
However, he stated that he was willing to make adjustments to the rules related to the applicator of online domestic workers service providers in the draft PPRT Bill in order to accommodate the development of technological going forward.
“So it is true that we really have to prepare in the future when there will be many applicators providers of domestic workers online,” he said.
