KENDARI, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Southeast Sulawesi’s education community mourns the death of Halu Oleo University (UHO) Rector, Prof. Armid.
He passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after suffering a sudden and fatal heart attack.
Earlier that morning, he joined a fun walk celebrating UHO’s 44th anniversary before the tragic incident occurred.
UHO Vice Rector II, Prof. Ida Usman, confirmed the news.
“Yes, he passed away at Korem Hospital,” she said.
Prof. Armid’s passing leaves deep grief for UHO’s academic community, students, colleagues, and the people of Southeast Sulawesi.
He was known as a visionary academic devoted to advancing higher education in the region.
Condolences quickly flooded social media, particularly from Southeast Sulawesi’s community and academic circles.
Many prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and loved ones.
