Jakarta, (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Muhamad Rusdi, the former Secretary General of KSPI, has been elected as the President of Aspek Indonesia (Indonesian Workers’ Union Association) for the 2024-2029 period during the VIII Congress, replacing Mirah Sumirat.
The congress, held at Balairung Hotel Matraman from July 27-28, 2024, was attended by officials from service sector workers’ unions such as Indosat Workers’ Union, XL, Telkomsel, Smartfren, Bank Niaga, Pos Indonesia, Hero Supermarket, Lotte, Lulu, Ramayana, Dunkin Donuts, ISS, G4S, RS Haji, United Tractor, Linfok Logistik, JICT, and several hotels.
The VIII Congress of Aspek Indonesia also elected Fahrizal as the Chairman of the National Assembly of Aspek Indonesia.
The VIII Congress of Aspek Indonesia was lively, attended by several labor leaders such as Jumhur Hidayat (Chairman of KSPSI), Daeng Wahidin (President of PPMi), Arief Minardi (Chairman of SP LEM SPSI), Rudi HB Daman (Chairman of GSBI), Sunarti (SBSI 92), and Benyamin (FSUI). It was also attended by the Director General of PHI from the Ministry of Manpower, Mrs. Indah Putri Anggoro.
In his speech, Rusdi stated that in the midst of the current heavy challenges due to the impact of Covid-19, the Industrial Revolution 4.0, and the global crisis, he is committed to reforming Aspek Indonesia and strengthening the organization seriously, both in terms of quantity and quality and the capacity of its members.
Seeing the enthusiastic congress participants in a strong familial atmosphere, Rusdi is confident that Aspek Indonesia can play a greater role in the Indonesian labor movement in an effort to achieve the welfare and dignity of workers.
Rusdi also emphasized strengthening Aspek Indonesia as a place to learn and fight. The spirit of the organization as a struggle will be enhanced in order to respond to the increasingly heavy challenges ahead.
Rusdi is also committed to strengthening the social dialogue pattern with the government and employers in building fair industrial relations. A healthy dialogue that prioritizes values of justice, God willing, will bring blessings and benefits to workers, employers, and the government. (sdk)
