Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — The Deliberative Body Betawi Tribe 1982 (Bamus Suku Betawi 1982) hosted a significant Halalbihalal gathering following the Eid al-Fitr celebrations, coinciding with the 22nd of Syawal 1445 H, at the Tavia Heritage Hotel in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
The event saw the presence of prominent figures from the Bamus Suku Betawi 1982, including Chairman H. Zainuddin MH, S.E., Customs Council (Majelis Adat) KH. Lutfi Hakim, and Hj. Idawara Suprida, Secretary General M. Ihsan, who also serves as the Chairman of FORKABI, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Rahmat Saiful Dasuki, Chairman of the Regional Leadership Board of the National Awakening Party (Partai PKB) DKJ H. Hasbi Ilyas, DKJ Regional Legislative Council Member M. Yusuf, S.ikom, DKJ Regional Legislative Council Member Heri Kustanto, and Senator Azran, along with other Betawi community leaders.
In his address, H. Zainuddin MH, S.E., also known as Bang Oding, expressed “the Bamus Suku Betawi 1982’s stance towards the enactment of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKJ) Law, following the relocation of the National Capital from DKI Jakarta to the National Capital (IKN). He emphasized the need for Betawi residents to prepare themselves for Jakarta’s changes, particularly the expansion of the Jakarta development zone known as Agglomeration, and the advancement of Betawi culture as mandated by the DKJ Law”.

Based on these considerations, the Bamus Suku Betawi 1982 issued several statements:
1. Expressing appreciation to all Betawi figures, organizations, and elements who advocated for Betawi aspirations, leading to the establishment of the Betawi Customs and Cultural Institution and the Cultural Endowment Fund under the DKJ Law.
2. Requesting the Agglomeration Area Council to involve Betawi communities in formulating the Greater Jakarta Agglomeration Master Plan (Jabodetabekjur).
3. Proposing the inclusion of Betawi figures as members of the Greater Jakarta Agglomeration Area Council (Jabodetabekjur).
4. Urging the Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta Regional Legislative Council to promptly draft, discuss, and enact regulations concerning the Betawi Customs and Cultural Institution and the Cultural Endowment Fund as mandated by the DKJ Law, with active involvement from the Betawi community.
5. Recommending the establishment of a Betawi-led Cultural Endowment Fund Management Body comprising individuals with appropriate capacities and competencies according to legal regulations.
6. Urging the Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta Regional Legislative Council to expeditiously revise Regulation No. 4 of 2015 concerning the Preservation of Betawi Culture into a Regulation on the Advancement of Betawi Culture, in alignment with the mandates of Law No. 5 of 2017 concerning the Advancement of Culture and Law No. 2 of 2024 concerning Special Capital Regions.
7. Encouraging all Bamus Suku Betawi 1982 officials, Betawi Community Organizations, and Betawi Cultural Centers to actively oversee and contribute to the formulation and submission of regional regulations, gubernatorial regulations, and gubernatorial decrees as implementation rules of Law No. 2 of 2024 concerning Special Capital Regions.
