JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — The Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate revealed the cause of a Daihatsu Sigra type car that caught fire on the Wiyoto Wiyono toll road was suspected of experiencing an electrical short circuit.
“As for the results of the examination conducted, it was suspected that the fire occurred due to an electrical short circuit,” said Kasat PJR Ditlantas Metro Jaya Regional Police Commissioner Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
He explained that the incident began when the car driven by Supardi drove from the direction of Tanjung Priok to Pluit.
“Then, the car engine suddenly died and came out of smoke from the hood. Supardi then pulled over the car on the side of the road. That’s when, the fire appeared from the hood that devoured all parts of the car,” said Dhanar.
Nevertheless, he made sure there were no fatalities in the incident, and then handled by the Pademangan Police Station.
The current situation at the location, the flow of vehicle traffic that had fallen slowly began to decompose. The police are still at the location to regulate the flow of traffic.
