Indonesian Ministry Sets 2024 Hajj Departure for May 12

Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — The Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a reminder regarding the upcoming departure of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to the Holy Land, starting from May 12, 2024, for those in the first wave of departures.

According to the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Affairs at the Ministry, Hilman Latief, the Hajj Travel Plan (RPH) for the year 1445 H was released on January 3, 2024. Indonesian pilgrims will be dispatched in two waves.

“Pilgrims in the first wave will depart from Indonesia to the Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport (AMAA) in Madinah from May 12 to May 23, 2024,” stated Hilman in a press release in Jakarta on Friday.

Meanwhile, pilgrims in the second wave will depart from Indonesia to the King Abdul Azis International Airport (KAAIA) in Jeddah from May 21 to June 1, 2024.

This year, Indonesia has been allocated a quota of 221,000 Hajj pilgrims, with an additional 20,000 slots granted, bringing the total to 241,000 pilgrims.

Of this total, 213,320 slots are allocated for regular Hajj pilgrims, while 27,680 slots are for special Hajj pilgrims.

The detailed itinerary for the 1445 H/2024 pilgrimage plan includes pilgrims entering Hajj dormitories starting from May 11, 2024.

Pilgrims in the first wave are scheduled to depart from Indonesia to Madinah from May 12 to May 23, 2024.

Subsequently, pilgrims in the first wave will depart from Madinah to Makkah from May 21 to June 1, 2024.

From May 24 to June 10, 2024, pilgrims in the second wave will depart from Indonesia to Jeddah. The departure of Indonesian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia is scheduled to conclude on June 10, 2024, the closing date.

On June 14, 2024, Hajj pilgrims are scheduled to depart for Arafah from Makkah and perform the wukuf in Arafah on 9 Zulhijah 1445 Hijriah or June 15, 2024.

Once all the Hajj rituals are completed, Indonesian pilgrims from the first wave will be repatriated to Indonesia from Jeddah from June 22 to July 3, 2024.

Pilgrims from the first wave are expected to arrive in Indonesia on June 22, 2024.

The second wave of Hajj pilgrims is planned to depart from Makkah to Madinah from June 26 to July 13, 2024, and will be repatriated to Indonesia from Madinah from July 4 to July 21, 2024.

The repatriation of the second wave of Hajj pilgrims to Indonesia is scheduled to be completed by July 22, 2024.

In addition, the Ministry has prepared 14 embarkation points for the organization of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, including Banda Aceh, Kualanamu, Padang, Batam, Palembang, Jakarta Pondok Gede, Jakarta Bekasi, Solo, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Balikpapan, Ujungpanjang, Lombok, and Kertajati.
