Bangkalan (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — In a thrilling showdown between Madura United FC vs Persita Tangerang at Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, Madura United emerged victorious with a scoreline of 3-2 during the latest Liga 1 Indonesia match held on Wednesday (06/03/2024) afternoon.
Francisco Rivera netted one goal for the home team, while the other two goals were own goals by the opposing team. Persita managed to score through Esal Sahrul Muhrom and Ramiro Fergonzi.
Currently, Madura sits at fifth place in the standings with 45 points.
Both teams displayed aggressive tactics and exchanged attacks from the onset of the match, as signaled by the referee’s whistle.
In the 18th minute of play, the visiting team secured the lead. Ramiro Fergonzi’s header was met by Esal Sahrul, finding the back of the net.
Madura United leveled the score through Francisco Rivera after receiving a through ball from the midfield.
Three minutes later, Persita conceded again. Christian Rontini attempted to clear a corner kick from Madura United but ended up scoring an own goal, putting Madura United ahead 2-1.
During injury time in the first half, Persita equalized to 2-2, as Ramiro Fergonzi tapped in the rebound from Esal Sahrul’s shot deflected by Lucas Frigeri.
In the second half, Persita showed more aggression, but their attacking approach backfired as they conceded in the 68th minute.
Christian Rontini’s mistake led to another own goal, making the score 3-2 in favor of Madura United.
Despite Persita’s efforts to equalize, Madura United held on to their 3-2 lead until the final whistle.
Madura United FC coach Mauricio Sauza praised Persita for their strong performance and relentless attacking play, but commended his team for remaining composed.
“We were able to create and capitalize on our chances effectively,” Mauricio remarked.
