JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — The Jakarta sailing team won two medals in the National Sailing Regatta Championship series 1 in 2025. Porlasi held this tournament at the National Sailing Centre, Ancol, North Jakarta, 10-11 May.
On the first day, 23 junior athletes competed in the optimist green open, optimist men and women classes. At a very young age, the athletes showed their enthusiasm and ability to conquer the wind to fight for the top position.
In the optimist women’s class, 12-year-old Jakarta sailing athlete Prisha Kirana won a silver medal, while Naura Adhara won a bronze medal in the ILCA 4 class.
Jakarta Porlasi Chairman, Abdul Azis Muslim said, the Jakarta sailing team deployed in the sailing championship this time totalled 7 people.
‘All athletes are under 15 years old and they have only been training to face the 2025 sailing championship for only 3 months’, said Azis.
Azis hopes that the achievements in this national championship can be an asset in the next event, the KASAL cup which will be held on 25-29 June 2025.
The 2025 Regatta Sailing National Championship was attended by 48 sailing athletes in 8 classes of matches, the event was opened by PB Porlasi Secretary General Dodik Pujiargo.
Chairman of PB Porlasi, Vice Admiral Erwin S Aldedharma was very happy with the presence of many young athletes in this event.
Erwin assessed that the presence of young athletes who have been able to make achievements is a signal that sailing sports are starting to be accepted by the community and in the future will be able to bring the nation’s name through national and international events.
