John Wall officially retired from NBA, following his career journey

JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) —  United States Basketball player John Wall officially announced retirement from the NBA after 11 career seasons. The 34-year-old point guard ended its work in the world’s most prestigious basketball league with an average score of 18.7 points, 8.9 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per match in 647 regular season matches.

The official announcement was made by Wall through his personal social media account on Tuesday (8/19) local time. In the upload in the form of a retrospective video entitled “Retred but never done. Doing it the #wallway”Wall emphasized that despite retiring from the field, he will still be involved in the world of basketball.

“Today, I’m stepping off of the court, but not away from the game. Basketball will always be in my life, and new opportunities present themselves. I feel now is the time to walk confidently into my next chapter,” Wall said, quoted from the official Instagram.

Wall is widely known as one of the most explosive points guard in its time. Washington Wizards chose him as the first choice in the 2010 NBA Draft after he only played one season at Kentucky University. He then defended Wizards for a decade (2010-2020) before joining Houston Rockets (2020-2022) and Los Angeles Clippers (2022-2023).

The player born in Raleigh, North Carolina, won five NBA titles All-star and enter the team All-NBA Third Team In the 2016/2017 season, when he recorded an average of 23.1 points and 10.7 assists per match. In the same season, he also led the league in terms of steal. In addition, Wall once won the Slam Dunk NBA contest in 2014 and entered the team All-Defensive Second Team in 2015.

However, Wall’s career journey can not be separated from the arrest of serious injuries, including Achilles injuries in 2019, which makes it a long absence.
