JAKARTA, BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE – Through the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), the Indonesian government strives to foster equitable connectivity in the 3T area (disadvantaged, leading, and outermost) by increasing the digital infrastructure owned.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that the steps taken by the government in helping this acceleration were carried out in Central Maluku Regency, which became one of the areas of attention from the Ministry of Komdigi.
“So later, specifically for the blank spot, if there are points, please just consult. Later, we can help. If he is not a 3T area, it means he is commercial. Later, we can find Opsel to encourage BTS there so that his connectivity becomes better,” Nezar Patria said in an official statement received by Antara on Wednesday.
In supporting this acceleration, Komdigi utilizes services from the Satellite of the Republic of Indonesia (Satria) -1. According to him, the Telecommunications and Information Agency of the Ministry of Komdigi is trying to study and provide vital points such as education, health, government, and defense services.
“Satria-1 can provide speeds of up to 3 to 4 Mbps. Later, we learn that the area might be helped to use Satria-1 satellites. The ground segment can be installed at points that help education, health, government, and defense,” he said.
In line with all that, his party also continues to pay attention to the digital literacy sector in the local community. This was done in order to provide education to the public on utilizing digital connectivity to be more positive in using it.
“Digital literacy is needed there so that people are more aware. This is also to educate them to understand the dangers of hoaxes, wrong information or misinformation, disinformation,” he said.
In addition, Nezar Patria also continues to encourage digital capacity development for regional government officials through the Digital Talent Scholarship Program and Digital Leadership Academy.
