JAKARTA, INDONESIA, BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE – A motorcycle thief with the initials US (22) is determined to self-drowning in the Mokevart River, Jalan Daan Mogot, West Jakarta, because he tried to escape from the pursuit of residents, on Wednesday (7/5).
Kalideres Police Chief Commissioner Arnold Julius Simanjuntak, when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday, said the incident began when the US perpetrators were in action stealing motorbikes in the Futsal Field Parking area, Jalan Raya Utan Jati, RT 006/RW 012 Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/5).
“The perpetrators acted with their fugitive colleagues, initials HM. They had planned this theft. The US went down to execute, while HM waited on the motorbike,” Arnold said.
The perpetrators targeted a motorcycle belonging to a Soto seller who was busy serving buyers. Then, the perpetrators used the letter key (letters) to carry the motorcycle away.
“However, the victim was aware and immediately shouted at the perpetrators,” said Arnold.
Residents who heard the screams of the victim then chased and almost judged the perpetrators.
“Panic, the perpetrators fell from the stolen motorbike and tried to escape by plugging into the Mokevart River,” he said.
The fate of perpetrators was rescued by police officers who were patrolling around the location.
“The police arrived on time, saved the perpetrators from the tantrums of the residents, and took him to the Kalideres Police Station,” he said.
Now, US perpetrators have been secured for further examination, while fellow perpetrators are still at pursuit.
For his actions, the perpetrators were suspected of Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft by weighing with a maximum prison sentence of 9 years.
