Jerusalem, Israel (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to undergo surgery on Sunday, March 31, 2024, to address a hernia issue, according to a statement released by his office.
The hernia was detected during a routine medical examination, and as a result, the Prime Minister will undergo a procedure requiring full anesthesia, rendering him unconscious throughout the operation.
During Netanyahu’s absence, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who also serves as his close confidant and holds the title of deputy prime minister, will step in as the acting prime minister, as announced by the Prime Minister’s office.
Despite his rigorous schedule during Israel’s nearly six-month-long conflict against Haqmas, Netanyahu’s doctors have affirmed his overall good health. However, last year, it was revealed that the Prime Minister had concealed a pre-existing heart condition, leading to the implantation of a pacemaker.
Netanyahu, aged 74, remains an influential figure in Israeli politics, and his upcoming surgery highlights the importance of regular health checkups for public figures, ensuring their well-being while in office.
