Prague, Czech Republic (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — In a significant update, Google’s music streaming service, YouTube Music, has expanded its desktop application capabilities, enabling users to download music for offline listening.
Previously, YouTube Music only offered offline listening through its mobile app, but now, this feature is being extended to the desktop application as well.
According to a report by GizChina on Sunday (March 31, 2024), users of the desktop application will soon be able to save playlists for offline listening.
YouTube Music has been testing this feature on its desktop application for some time, albeit with only a small group of users participating in the trial.
The feature appears to have been rolled out to more users now, although the rollout may be gradual.
Some users have already received a notification stating, “New! Download music to listen offline.” This notification pops up next to the “Library” tab on the web application.
Upon receiving this notification, users can start downloading songs on their desktop application for offline enjoyment.
The process of saving songs on the YouTube Music desktop version is straightforward: users simply need to navigate to the desired song or album and click the download button, which should appear between the “Save to library” option and the three-dot menu button.
Similar to the mobile app, all downloaded songs will be accessible under the “Downloads” tab within the “Library” section.
Furthermore, users can take advantage of the filter feature to organize songs, artists, albums, or playlists efficiently.
