NTU Celebrates 30 Years of NBS and Honours Dr Wee Cho Yaw’s Legacy

SINGAPORE (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore is celebrating 30 years of shaping business leaders through its Nanyang Business School (NBS).

The school, first named the School of Accountancy and Business, was renamed in 1995 by the late Dr Wee Cho Yaw.

Dr Wee was a respected business leader, philanthropist, and strong supporter of NBS from its earliest days.

As part of the celebration, NTU honoured his legacy and lasting guidance as an NTU Pro-Chancellor.

A tribute wall was unveiled, showcasing Dr Wee’s influence on both the University and Singapore’s progress.

NTU also commissioned a painting by NBS alumnus Yip Yew Chong, reflecting the values Dr Wee lived by.

To further honour him, the building housing NBS was renamed Wee Cho Yaw Plaza.

The event was attended by Guest of Honour Ong Ye Kung, Singapore’s Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies.
