YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) – “The Regional Government of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) emphasized that the development of night tourism at Parangtritis Beach in Bantul should follow its unique concept, rather than replicating the Bali tourism model.”
The Regional Government (Pemda) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) stated that the discourse on the development of night tourism in the Parangtritis Beach area, Bantul, did not have to follow the pattern implemented in Bali.
Head of the DIY Tourism Office (Dispar) Imam Pratanadi in Yogyakarta on Thursday said the character and uniqueness of the local became the main key to designing the direction of the development of tourist destinations on the southern coast.
“We can see Bali as an example for the development of night tourism. However, I think ‘uniqueness’ from the Special Region of Yogyakarta is still number one,” Imam said.
He added that, if, in the future, Parangtritis wants to be developed as a night tourist destination, then the approach must be based on local culture and not imitate the concepts that already exist in other places.
Typical tourist attractions, according to him, need to be designed, complete with adequate supporting amenities.
Imam acknowledged that night tourism in Parangtritis had indeed been included in the development of the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN).
But at this time, Imam said there was no concrete planning related to night tourism in Parangtritis. The Bantul Regency Tourism Office, as the regional manager, has not yet prepared a special design or program for that.
“If now we promote night tourism, I don’t think it’s in the place. I am worried that visitors are even disappointed because there is no attraction,” he said.
On the other hand, Imam revealed that a new pattern of visits emerged from tourists at Parangtritis Beach, who came since morning to enjoy the atmosphere of the sunrise.
This phenomenon is said to be an opportunity to build a more diverse and more diverse visit pattern into a night tour until morning in the future.
“If it can be merged between night attractions and morning atmosphere, I think it will be very good to improve the local economy and extend the lives of tourists in the region,” he said.
