KEDIRI, INDONESIAÂ (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) – Persib Bandung officially locked the BRI League 1 title season 2024/2025 after a 3-3 draw between Persik Kediri vs Persebaya Surabaya on Monday (5/5) at Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri. These results ensure that Persib can no longer be pursued by its competitors at the top of the standings.
With a collection of 64 points from 31 matches, Maung Bandung is 10 points ahead of the two closest competitors, Persebaya Surabaya and Dewa United, each of which only collected 54 points. This achievement marks a success Back-to-back for Persib as League 1 champions after the previous season also came out as champions.
Champion prizes rose to IDR 7.5 billion
As League 1 champions this season, Persib Bandung is entitled to receive a grand prize of Rp. 7.5 billion. This figure increased dramatically by 50 percent compared to the 2023/2024 season, which was only Rp5 billion.
President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus, explained that the increase in prize value was part of a commitment to continue to improve the professionalism and competitiveness of domestic competition.
“For the total prize of the previous season of Rp5 billion, this time we raised to Rp7.5 billion,” Ferry said in his official statement on Wednesday (6/26/2024).
The club contribution reaches tens of billions of rupiah
In addition to championship prizes, Persib Bandung is also entitled to the club contribution fund, whose value has also increased. This contribution fund consists of various components such as fixed contributions (Fixed Contribution), achievement of the standings (Sporting Merit), mark rating, and share of television broadcasts, as well as fulfillment of club licensing aspects (Club licensing).
For this season, a fixed contribution for each club is estimated to reach Rp12 billion, up 60 percent from the previous season, which was at Rp7.5 billion. With the status as a champion and supported by various other supporting aspects, Persib is predicted to receive the maximum amount of contribution funds.
“If we look at the 2021/2022 season, it rose 50 percent in 2022/2023. This season it rose to 60 percent. Just translate the numbers themselves,” Ferry said, referring to the trend of improving club funding structures from LIB.
The total potential income of more than Rp27 billion
By combining a championship prize of Rp. 7.5 billion and the club contribution estimated to reach more than Rp20 billion, the total income of Persib Bandung this season is projected to reach a figure above Rp27 billion.
This figure does not include potential income from other commercial sectors such as sponsors, match ticket sales, as well merchandise. The official club, which historically became one of Maung Bandung’s biggest income.
As one of the clubs with the largest supporter base in the country, Persib is also almost certain to achieve the maximum score in aspects Rating & Share TV aspects. Coupled with a modern and professional club management structure, Persib is expected to pass all aspects of the club license required by the competition operator.
The success of Persib Bandung to become the League 1 championship season 2024/2025 is not only a matter of achievement on the field, but also reflects the managerial and commercial success of the club.
