Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Minister Coordinator for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Hadi Tjahjanto reaffirmed that the Government continues to monitor terrorism movements in Indonesia, in response to the potential terrorist attacks like those in Moscow, Russia.
Hadi made this statement at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs building in Jakarta on Monday (25/03/2024), emphasizing that early detection measures against terrorist networks, especially ISIS, are being intensively carried out. He mentioned that they have coordinated with the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and the Special Detachment 88 Anti-Terror Unit of the Indonesian National Police to monitor the movements and activities of these networks.
“The Government will not provide space and is always ready to take action if there are harmful activities from these parties,” stated Hadi.
Recently, a terrorist attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, Russia, resulting in the death of 133 people. Four attackers, including Muhammadsobir Fayzov, who was tasked with recording the attack, have been apprehended and prosecuted in Moscow.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) of the Republic of Indonesia also confirmed that no Indonesian citizens were among the victims of the attack. The Indonesian Embassy in Moscow continues to coordinate with local authorities to ensure the safety and comfort of Indonesian citizens in Russia.
In response to this, Director of the Protection of Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI, Judha Nugraha, affirmed that the Ministry will continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance and protection to Indonesian citizens abroad.
In efforts to prevent terrorism, the Indonesian Government has strengthened inter-agency cooperation and tightened surveillance of terrorist movements domestically.
