Prabowo Subianto Firmly Embraces Continuity to Honor Jokowi’s Legacy

Jakarta (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — In a recent gathering of political figures and supporters, Prabowo Subianto, the President-elect of Indonesia, reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Coalition for Advancing Indonesia (Koalisi Indonesia Maju) towards carrying forward the legacy of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Addressing a crowd gathered for an evening of camaraderie and shared meals in Kuningan, Jakarta, on Monday (March 25, 2024), Prabowo voiced, “Here in the Coalition for Advancing Indonesia, we have no doubts and no hesitations in declaring ourselves as the successors of President Joko Widodo.”

Prabowo emphasized the significance of respecting past leaders, stating, “A good and honorable nation is one that respects its leaders.” He expressed his reverence for the preceding presidents of Indonesia and pledged to address any lingering inadequacies.

“Our goal is clear. We build upon the foundations laid by our predecessors, by the presidents before us. We acknowledge, we respect all the presidents before us. We recognize our strengths and weaknesses, but we are determined to rectify those shortcomings,” Prabowo affirmed.

On another note, Prabowo, alongside Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who has been declared the winner of the 2024 Presidential Election by the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU RI), attributed their victory to the Indonesian people. He extended his gratitude to all supporters, stating, “I thank you for believing in me. I consider myself and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as mere flag bearers, as representatives of all of you.”

He further labeled himself and Gibran as symbols of the aspirations and desires of the Indonesian people. “Great national figures who are here before me, they support me, they support Gibran, not because Prabowo is great, not because Gibran is great, but because Prabowo and Gibran symbolize the aspirations of our people, the desires of our people,” he articulated.

Prabowo pledged to accept the mandate of the people as a noble assignment and vowed to fulfill it with utmost dedication and responsibility. “I accept this mandate as a noble assignment, as a task bestowed by the Indonesian people, which I will carry out with all my heart, with full responsibility to the Indonesian people,” Prabowo added.

The gathering, which also marked an occasion of communal iftar (breaking of the fast during Ramadan), was attended by Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, as well as prominent figures from the Coalition for Advancing Indonesia, including Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, and Chairman of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Additionally, notable attendees included the National Campaign Team Chairman Rosan Roeslani, TKN Secretary Nusron Wahid, Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani, and several national figures such as Aburizal Bakrie and Hatta Rajasa.

Earlier, on Wednesday (March 20, 2024), the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU RI) officially declared Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the elected presidential pair for the 2024 Elections, securing a total of 96,214,691 votes.

In the electoral race, the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar garnered 40,971,906 votes, while the duo Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. received 27,040,878 votes.

The event not only celebrated the victory of a political campaign but also symbolized the beginning of a journey towards continued progress and unity under the leadership of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
