JAKARTA, BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE – President-elect Prabowo Subianto has summoned 49 people related to ministerial candidates in his cabinet to his residence in Kertanegara, South Jakarta. Of these, there are dozens of people who previously served as ministers in President Joko Widodo’s (Jokowi) cabinet.
The summoning took place on Monday (14/10) starting at 2 pm and finishing in the evening. Prabowo confirmed that the summons was related to preparations for the formation of his new cabinet.
“They have stated that they are willing to help me. So actually today is just confirming, I confirm, I make sure they are willing or not to help me in the fields that I offer them,” Prabowo said when we met at Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Monday (14/10/2024).
“Alhamdulillah, all of them said they were willing,” he continued.
During the meeting, Prabowo also gave directions to his prospective ministers. He emphasized the importance of teamwork in the upcoming cabinet, given the uncertain world situation.
“I gave some emphasis, roughly the direction of our policy, in general, I am satisfied and the atmosphere is very good, everyone understands that we must work well, work hard, and work as a team in a world atmosphere full of uncertainty. We really have to work with very good teamwork,” Prabowo explained.
Dozens of Jokowi Ministers Called by Prabowo
Based on reports, a number of ministers from Jokowi’s cabinet attended this summoning. There were 13 ministers from Jokowi’s government who were summoned by Prabowo to possibly continue their duties as ministers.
The following are the names of the ministers from Jokowi’s cabinet who were summoned by Prabowo:

Prabowo Opens the Opportunity to Reuse Jokowi’s Ministers
A few days before the summoning of prospective ministers, Prabowo had expressed the opportunity to reuse the services of ministers from Jokowi’s cabinet who were considered to be performing well. According to him, there are many Jokowi ministers who deserve to be considered for re-entry into his cabinet.
I was once a rival, but I joined, it turns out that our values are the same, and now in this transition, I feel very assisted, very supported by Mr. Jokowi and his team,” Prabowo said at the BNI Investor Daily Summit at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (9/10).
Prabowo also explained that putting together a cabinet is not easy and requires the best team. He ensured that the people he chose were based on their abilities, not their personal backgrounds.
“We don’t think about whose parents, what religion, what tribe, what race. He is capable or not, he can or not, he struggles or not, whether or not he is able to deliver, whether or not he is able to do the best for the nation and state. That’s what we are looking for,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo acknowledged that President Jokowi also focuses on ability when appointing his aides. He also plans to emulate this approach by involving some of Jokowi’s ministers in his government.
“Mr. Jokowi is the same way, looking for the best, I am the same way. And if by chance the person is still good, we will definitely ask to join again,” Prabowo concluded.(sdk)
