Melbourne (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) – President Joko Widodo arrived in Melbourne, Australia, on Monday night around 20:45 local time or 16:45 WIB to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit 2024.
After a six-hour flight from Jakarta, the Indonesian Presidential Aircraft-1 carrying President Jokowi and his entourage landed at Melbourne Jet Base Airport, as stated by the Presidential Secretariat Press Bureau.
Welcoming President Jokowi beneath the plane’s stairs were Assistant Minister for the Australian Prime Minister Patrick Gorman, the Indonesian Ambassador to Canberra Siswo Pramono, and the Indonesian Defense Attaché in Canberra, Navy Rear Admiral Yusliandi Ginting.
From Melbourne Jet Base Airport, President Jokowi and his entourage proceeded to the hotel where they will be staying during their visit to Melbourne.
Welcoming President Jokowi at the hotel were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, who had arrived earlier to prepare for President Jokowi’s visit.
During his time in Melbourne, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit celebrating 50 years of ASEAN-Australia partnership. Additionally, President Jokowi will hold bilateral meetings with several friendly nations’ leaders.
Accompanying the President on this visit are State Secretary Pratikno and Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono.
