Madrid, Spain (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — In a move that is set to solidify his bond with Real Madrid, German midfielder Toni Kroos is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract at Santiago Bernabeu until 2025.
Speculations about the future of the German national team player have been rife lately, especially as his current contract is set to expire at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
“Toni Kroos is set to stay and continue playing for Real Madrid with a one-year contract extension until 2025,” stated transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Wednesday (April 27, 2024).
According to Romano, both Kroos and Real Madrid have reached an agreement, with only the formalities of signing the contract remaining.
Since joining Madrid in 2014, Kroos has made 450 appearances for Los Blancos across all competitions. During his time at Madrid, he has clinched four UEFA Champions League trophies and three La Liga titles.
Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has increasingly favored younger midfielders such as Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde. However, Kroos still holds Ancelotti’s trust, starting in 20 La Liga matches this season.
Recently, Kroos decided to come out of retirement from international football and rejoined the German national team for two friendly matches leading up to Euro 2024.
Kroos’ decision to extend his stay at Real Madrid not only reaffirms his commitment to the club but also adds stability to the midfield lineup as the team continues to strive for success in domestic and European competitions.
