JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — Secretary of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission C, Suhud Alynudin, requested firm action on the practice of extortion (illegal levies) in the installation or new installation activities of the PAM Jaya pipe that had made the public uneasy.
“Earlier, it has also been conveyed by a number of related council members, there are still persons from PAM Jaya who committed an unofficial quote,” said Secretary of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission C Suhud Alynudin in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Suhud said the unrest was not only in one region, but some members of the DKI DPRD also found reports related to withdrawing unofficial costs.
For this reason, Commission C of the DPRD requested that the person who committed extortion be proclaimed so that public trust in PAM Jaya would increase.
“This must be a concern so that public trust increases,” he said.
Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta DPRD Commission C member Lukmanul Hakim said there were a number of complaints that entered him related to the extortion.
According to him, officers in the field asked residents who connect clean water for free with rates according to the connection meter.
“They reasoned that when the connection was more than 150 meters from the water source, it was charged,” he said.
Responding to that, PAM Jaya Managing Director Arief Nasrudin ensured that there was no fee for the new pipeline connection program, especially for groups that were included in the K2 (Social) group category (household).
“If K1 and K2 confirm that there are no other fees,” he said.
Arief added that Pam Jaya ensured that anyone who was involved and proven to practice extortion in the company environment would be fired with disrespect.
