JAKARTA, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) – Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi ensures that the government is formulating a concrete policy to handle vehicles Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL), which is a serious problem on the highway.
In a working meeting with the House of Representatives Commission V in Jakarta on Thursday, Dudy said that previously, several ministries and SOEs, through the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Seniority Development, had been collected to discuss the handling of ODOL.
The ministries involved in the discussion include the Ministry of Home Affairs, Finance, Trade, Industry, and the Ministry of Transportation as the main technical agency.
“In the framework of handling toothpaste, in the future, there will be several formulations that will be issued by the government regarding Odol,” said the Minister of Transportation.
He revealed several strategic steps had been agreed upon and are currently being finalized into a government policy that will soon be announced in the near future.
The Minister of Transportation emphasized that his party was very embarrassed by the existence of Odol, which caused various infrastructure damage and endangers the safety of road users.
According to him, the government is very serious in handling Odol, and policies formulated later will be concrete proof of the seriousness to the House of Representatives Commission V and the wider community.
