PADANG, INDONESIA (BERITAPOLITIK.ONLINE) — The train accident with a minibus unit that occurred in the Jati area, East Padang, Padang City, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) on Thursday at around 11:30 WIB, resulted in two people killed.
In the incident it was reported that two minibus passengers died after experiencing a direct collision by train.
“It is true that there has been an accident between the train and a minibus in the teak area this afternoon,” said Head of East Padang Police Station AKP Harmon in Padang on Thursday.
He explained the unlucky minibus with the white color when the accident contained seven people. Two of the victims were reported to have died, one of the victims who died was known to be the daughter of the Solok Police Chief.
While other victims have been rushed to the hospital after the incident, and are still undergoing medical treatment.
The incident began when the minibus came from the direction of Jati Parak Salai, wanting to cross the railroad tracks to Jalan Raya Jati.
But upon arrival at the crossing of the car train was hit by an airport train that came from the direction of Simpang Haru to the Minangkabau International Airport (BIM).
The car was reportedly dragged by the train about ten meters from the collision point, as a result the minibus suffered severe damage to the left.
The accident incident caught the attention of local residents and motorists who crossed the scene because it was a crowded lane.
Police personnel have come to the location to conduct the crime scene and take eyewitness statements in the context of further investigation.(EMN)
